Hello!
I'm Arafat Iqbal, a Software Engineer II at Dexcom based in San Diego. I work at the intersection of development and DevOps, building scalable systems and improving infrastructure operations.
Currently, I optimize and scale Kubernetes clusters on GCP, design Helm charts for standardized deployments, and streamline CI/CD pipelines. I also develop backend endpoints for new product features and enhance observability with Datadog monitoring and alerts.
My technical journey includes building production web applications with Ember.js, Svelte, and TypeScript, working with microservices architectures, and serving as an on-call engineer coordinating incident response and long-term fixes.
I graduated from Portland State University with a B.S. in Computer Science (3.5 GPA) and have progressed from intern to Software Engineer II, learning DevOps, cloud infrastructure, and full-stack development along the way.
